You can add different email accounts to Microsoft 365, iCloud, Gmail, Exchange, Yahoo and other accounts. Though third-party email providers such as iCloud, Yahoo and Gmail want you to change settings on these websites, you can easily add email accounts on Outlook. You cannot install and use Outlook without an email address account (you cannot receive or send mail as well). Once done with the first, here is how you add a second account:

Outlook for PC

1. Select File > Add account.

 

2. As per your version, enter the email address, password, name and sign in.

 

3. If needed, enter the password a second time. Finally, select OK > Finish to begin using the Outlook account.

If Outlook does not accept your password, you probably have an email account that needs additional security. For example, AOL, Outlook, Yahoo and Gmail accounts require two-factor authentication, ensuring that you are authorised to access the email account. In addition, you have an application password to add the email account to Outlook, which is communicated to you by message.

If you want to set up your account manually, you should use Outlook’s advanced setup option. You can further use this for entering specific values for outgoing and incoming port numbers, server names, SSL settings, IMAP and POP mails.

  1. Open Outlook and select File > Add Account.
  2. Enter the email address, choose the Advanced Options, tick the box “Let me set up my account manually, “ and click “Connect.”
  3. Select the account type, such as IMAP.
  4. Though the Account Settings usually encompasses the account settings you require, check the IMAP and POPUP settings for additional settings. Enter the outgoing and incoming server settings and click “Next”. Enter the password to select “Connect”.

If you’re using a third-party MAPI email account for Windows Outlook, download and configure the MAPI email provider as per the guidelines.

  1. Open Outlook and select File > Add Account.
  2. Enter the email address, select the Advanced Options, tick the box for “let me set up my account manually, “ and click “Connect”.
  3. On the Advanced Setup screen, select “Other” and choose the kind of server. Click “Connect”.
  4. Complete the account setup by following the MAPI provider’s instructions.

 

Outlook for MAC

Email accounts such as Google, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Exchange, Live, and Hotmail are set up quickly:

  1. Select Outlook > Preferences > Account.
  2. Click on the plus (+) sign > New Account.
  3. Type the email address > Connect. Then, type the password > Add Account.

 

 

  1. If you are adding a POP, IMAP, or Yahoo account, you would be lead to the websites mentioned above. Then, Outlook can access the contacts in your mail, calendar, and emails with your permission.
  2. If you’re adding Gmail, you’ll get an alert from Outlook to log in to your Google account. Select "Done".
