JEE Main Result 2021 Declared; 18 In Rank 1

JEE Main 2021: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2021) within eight days of completing the exam. As many as 44 students score 100 percentile marks.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2021) within 13 days of completing the exam, at the NTA official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam was held on August 26, 27, 31 and again on September 1 and September 2 in shifts, for more than 7 lakh candidates. A total of 44 candidates have scored 100 percentile marks in JEE Main this year while 18 students have been placed at the top rank.

Along with JEE Main 2021 August session results, NTA has also announced category-wise cut-offs. JEE Main 2021 cut-off, for appearing in JEE Advanced, is 87.8992241, which is less compared to 90.3765335 last year. Cut-offs have dropped across all categories.

Last year, the JEE cut-off percentile for general category candidates in the “common rank list” (CRL) was 90.3765335, up from 89.7548849 in 2019. However, the cut-off NTA scores for JEE Main 2020 had dropped for all other categories -- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD).

Only the JEE Main 2021 result for the BTech/BE papers has been declared today. The result for BArch and BPlanning candidates will be declared later.

JEE Main is a gateway for admission to engineering (BTech) courses in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments.

JEE Main is also an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which the students need to take if they wish to take admissions to the undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). To be eligible for JEE Advanced, a candidate needs to meet the JEE Main cut-off. The top 2,50,000 (2.5 lakh) scorers in the JEE Main are eligible to write the JEE Advanced.

The JEE Main cut-off score basically indicates the score of the last person to write the JEE Main who has qualified to write the JEE Advanced. A drop or increase in the cut-off percentile scores, therefore, implies a general decline or improvement in performance.

JEE Main was held four times this year, in February, March, July, August. The exam was held four times to give more opportunities to the students to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in the first attempt, without wasting their whole academic year.

After the fourth round, the NTA has compiled results of all four sessions and released a combined JEE cut-off and ranks.
