India’s 2nd largest telco trains its SoC in cyber incident response

Date: 25 March 2021

Bharti Airtel, India's 2nd largest telecommunications company with operations in 18 countries across Asia and Africa, recently organised an exclusive private internal CIPR training with CM-Alliance for its Security Operations Centre or SOC team.

Cyber Management Alliance’s NCSC-Certified Cyber Incident Planning and Response course is the ideal training programme for organisations looking to bolster their cybersecurity, build resilience and enforce a healthier security culture.

The training is available in various formats - public, internal, instructor-led and as self-paced learning. The internal private training, however, has quickly emerged as the preferred alternative for businesses looking at a bespoke course for their staff that helps in refining internal processes, enhancing communication frameworks, improving inter-departmental coordination and achieving a tangible reduction in response times.

To achieve these objectives, Bharti Airtel, the leading global telecommunications company with operations in 18 countries across Asia and Africa, recently organised an exclusive private internal CIPR training with CM-Alliance for its Security Operations Centre or SOC team. The training saw participation from 15 delegates from the SOC team of Bharti Airtel, India’s second largest telecommunications operator, across designations such as lead, analyst, SOC manager, GRC consultant, GRC manager etc.

The training was well-received by all participating delegates and many of them felt that the subject matter was explained extremely lucidly with simple yet insightful discussions on relevant subjects such as the technology stack, how to use the technology properly, integration etc.

Some of the delegates shared their experience:

Deepak Raina, SOC Lead, said, “The delivery and the presentation of the content was perfectly arranged. I’m so happy that topics like threat hunting and brand monitoring were covered during the session.”

Shivangi Varshenya, SOC Lead said, “It was a great session. It was very interactive, and everyone felt like speaking up during the session. We learnt a lot and our concept was really turned around when it comes to alerting so we’ll be paying a lot more attention to the bigger picture now.”

Sheen Kanth, SOC Analyst, further added, “Thank you for keeping us engaged. The analogies were awesome and they made the concepts easy to understand.”

Each of the 15 delegates from the Bharti Airtel SOC team will be sitting for the APMG International examination to bolster their learning with a certification and a digital badge.

Cyber Management Alliance offers every delegate who attends its training the option of becoming certified in CIPR by successfully passing the APMG International examination of the NCSC-Certified Cyber Incident Planning and Response training. The exam is administered by APMG International and is invigilated by ProctorU which provides secure live and automated online proctoring services for academic institutions and professional organisations.

Upon passing the examination successfully, each delegate receives a digital badge issued by youracclaim.com, the world's most trusted digital credential network for professional associations and corporate learning. The badges are secure, digital representations of professional development credentials.
