A day after American carmaker Ford announced it was shutting manufacturing plants in India, government officials said the country’s automotive industry was still a preferred destination for investments.
The industry is expected to attract investments worth $4.4 billion from a clutch of deals that are in various stages of making, a senior official said on Friday.
