LinkedIn recently listed ‘Digital Marketer‘ as the top in-demand job for 2021. As anyone who has been involved in Network Marketing can confirm, to be successful in this industry you have to treat it like any other business.

It is a business, just as much as any franchise or startup is and everyone wants to know how to increase your network marketing business. 

Well in 2021, every business is going to revolve around digital marketing, or what we call in our business, ‘Digital Network Marketing‘.

The fact is, whether you own a local franchise or you work from home, the evolution of modern technology has changed the way businesses operate. Even more so after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The simple fact is network marketing and digital marketing go hand and hand. If you are going to build a successful network marketing business , you are going to build it online.

Your challenge then, is to create a comprehensive digital marketing strategy and actionable plan that will generate tons of qualified prospects to your business.

Ultimately, you’ll convert that traffic that starts generating leads and sales by learning how to promote your network marketing business online.

How to Find Prospects Online

So, how do people market their business today in a time when the customer is in control now more than ever? People have changed how they research and consume information, products and services, so you have to reach them where they are.

Digital marketing continues to be the most effective way to reach prospects and customers. Building a comprehensive digital marketing strategy is the key to improving your bottom line and getting a return on your investment.

CONTENT MARKETING

Companies blast us with information all the time, but most of the time it’s not very relevant or valuable.  Flyers and ads from our mailbox go in the trash, and most emails go to the spam folder.

Content Marketing is an approach focusing on creating and distributing content. Relevant content will help you attract and retain your target audience.

Create Content

Instead of putting 1000 flyers in the parking lot at the mall and hoping someone may be interested, you create content that targets those people specifically. Create useful content that helps them with their search. If we offer consistent, valuable information to potential customers, they ultimately reward us with their business and loyalty.

Tell a Story

The best network marketers in the world leverage the power of storytelling to improve their brand and expand their marketing. People connect to stories, and empathy is a powerful tool for building trust. There is a saying that goes,

“Facts tell, and stories sell!”

So much so in fact, that people remember stories 22x more than facts and figures alone!

Know Your Customers

There are three core things you need to get started with digital marketing: know your customers, tell your brand story, and set your goals. Based upon those you will know what content your customers are looking for, where they spend their time, and how to measure and analyze reporting.

For example, my goal is to provide relevant, useful content that helps people be more successful with their business. Video is the best form of content for me, but there are many types to choose from. I provide content that I think will reach my audience where they are.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

Social Media Marketing is a powerful way for your network marketing business to reach prospects and customers.  Your customers are already interacting with brands through social media. Use social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, to connect with your audience.

Social Media has changed how people communicate and it’s changing how organizations do business. Social Media network marketing needs to be an integral component to any successful network marketing business plan. People don’t care about brands, or even about products, as much as they care about other people.

Who’s On Social Media?

Social Media Marketing involves creating and sharing content on social media networks where your target customers spend time. You’re not posting randomly, make sure you’re using your content to achieve your marketing and branding goals.

The primary tasks for social media are posting text and image updates, and videos. Most platforms also offer paid advertising. Social media is the best way to distribute the the unique content you create with your content marketing strategy.

I’m constantly releasing content on all of my social media platforms, but it’s not all the same content. Each network has it’s own demographic, so to reach my entire audience I have to use them properly.

For example: Instagram has a significantly younger demographic than Facebook and Twitter. Pinterest is very visual and is more popular with women. YouTube is used primarily by the millennial generation. Know your market, and go meet them where they are.

Creating Content on Social Media

Creating the content on your social media platforms can get tricky after a while. You may find yourself struggling to find post ideas that are appropriate for your business.

Before you do anything else, consider your target market. Figure out who you’re talking to and where you want to talk to them. From there figure out what’s going to interest and entice them.

VIDEO MARKETING

Video has been exploding for quite some time, but in 2021, it’s going to a whole other level. About 78% of people watch videos every single week, and 55% of them watch videos every single day. Video traffic in 2021 will account for over 80% of all internet traffic. On top of that, four times as many consumers would rather watch a video about a product than read about it. That’s big.

Now with over a billion users online, over 250 million hours of video every single day are being consumed. That’s why YouTube, it’s the number two biggest search engine and over 250 million hours of video every single day. So the numbers say it all. The US consumer in 2021 will have an average of 9.5 video streaming apps installed on their phone.

Nearly three out of four people who get an opportunity to see a product in action, like an explainer video, will buy that product. That’s like having a 75% conversion rate!

Also, people want to do business with someone they, know like and trust.  The more real and authentic you are, the better it is, it helps build the trust and likability factor so much faster. It bridges the gap between you and your future customers. You never know when you’re one connection away from a whole different world.

EMAIL MARKETING

When you consider the number of emails you get rid of without reading them, it can seem like email is a useless platform. However, according to the Direct Marketing Association, email marketing’s ROI is around 4,300%. So not only does it have the broadest audience, but it’s cost effective.

With a good content marketing strategy in place, email may be more powerful than ever. Everyone has at least one email address and most check emails regularly on all of their devices.

This isn’t about email newsletters that end up unread in the spam and trash folders. Those are almost completely ineffective. What does work is good email content that deepens your relationship with your audience.

Email is another important content distribution channel, and one that connects you directly with members of your target audience. Stay in touch with your community and build stronger relationships long term.

CREATING A COMPREHENSIVE DIGITAL NETWORK MARKETING STRATEGY

We’ve only barely touched on the basics of combining network marketing with digital marketing. This probably isn’t quite enough detail for you to go and start implementing a new digital network marketing strategy right now.
