What do you have your customers look at while they sit there and wait, magazines? Most waiting rooms do have magazines and if you have magazines that are pertinent to your business, well that's good. That's a good first step. The next step would be to also have brochures. How about product samples that they can try for free while they wait to see you? How about even going to the extent of having a television monitor showing professionally produced commercials advertising your products and services?
